Hi, I’m
Alex
Merwin
a London-based digital enthusiast. When not diving headfirst into all things tech I love enjoying hoppy brews, traveling the world and annoying my friends as a shutterbug.
About Me
I am originally from the US (Colorado) and have always been a technophile. My grandmother worked at Apple from 1982 to 2012 – I think she was the only octogenarian at the company when she retired. Thanks to her, we always had Macs in the house growing up. When I was twelve, I developed my first website, launched an eCommerce business at 14, and never turned back. I continued website development and digital marketing consulting through my mid-twenties. I then had the incredible experience of working at two advertising technology startups over a ten-year period that both exited as unicorns. I learned how to form and motivate teams that deliver sustainable results. How well-defined and consistently practiced norms empower teams to plan effectively & execute, despite the challenges of cross-functional, geographical, and cultural diversity. However, despite these successes, I felt like something was missing - I wanted my career to be more directly tied to work delivering social value. Today, I lead growth initiatives for Amazon Web Services' healthcare and life sciences startup team. I am endlessly curious and fascinated by digital transformation in healthcare, particularly at the intersection of AIML and health innovation.
